Denver Chapter of Information Systems Security Association, Inc.,

The Denver Chapter of Information Systems Security Association Inc. (“Denver ISSA”) is a not-for-profit organization of information security professionals and practitioners based in Denver Colorado. Denver ISSA is affiliated with ISSA International (issa.org) and provides education forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, leadership, skill and professional growth of its members. Denver ISSA owns and operates the https://www.denverissa.org/ website.

Information Collection and Storage

Collection of Personal Information

When you request membership, ISSA International will ask that you provide information that personally identifies you (personal information), and allows both ISSA International and Denver ISSA to process your membership or to contact you. This information includes your name, work and home mailing address, company for which you work, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses, (your credit card information, if submitted for payment purposes, is only processed by ISSA International), and other information to assist us in keeping you informed of activities of ISSA International and Denver ISSA and your rights and privileges as a member.

We use your IP address as recorded in our site logs only as needed to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Website. Site usage information is not analyzed for other purposes or shared with other sites.

Except where required by applicable law, we do not collect personal data revealing political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, genetic data, biometric data, or data concerning sex life, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Storage of Personal Information

Your provided information is retained while you are a member, and for up to a year afterwards in case you rejoin ISSA during that time. After that period of time, it is archived for historical purposes and is no longer accessible through the normal reporting methods.

Credit card information obtained for purposes of event or sponsorship processing is not stored with the sponsor record or available to other association members.

Denver ISSA Staff use your personal information to maintain your membership, and to provide you with standard Denver ISSA communications and privileges.

Educational Activities

At Denver ISSA, we’re dedicated to enhancing our members’ knowledge and career development. To support this mission, we actively connect our members with educational opportunities and helpful tools that can boost both individual growth and organizational success. Through partnerships with trusted vendors, we gather and share insights on tools, services, and learning resources that may be of interest to our community.

Third-Party Goods and Services

Information about your ISSA membership is maintained in association with your profile account. The personal information Denver ISSA collects from ISSA International is stored in one or more databases hosted by third parties located in the United States. These third parties do not use or have access to your personal information for any purpose other than cloud storage and retrieval. On occasion, Denver ISSA engages third parties to mail information to you, including items from an event sponsor.

The Denver ISSA website uses interfaces with social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X and others. If you choose to "like" or share information from the Denver ISSA website through these services, you should review the privacy policy of that service. If you are a member of a social media site, the interfaces may allow the social media site to connect your site visit to your personal data.

Denver ISSA communications utilize a third party system, which provides for an Opt-out mechanism, if you so choose to no longer be notified of those communications.

Denver ISSA respects our members’ privacy, and we never sell your information.

Denver ISSA may share your contact information with outside organizations only if it’s essential to Denver ISSA business, requested by the member, legally required, or necessary to protect the integrity of our resources.

We may share your speaker Information, that has been made available on this public website, with other ISSA Chapters.

Information Security

This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

The site is audited on a periodic basis to attempt to keep it up to date with good security practices, and protective measures are implemented on the site hosts.

Members may also request changes to their membership and communication information by submitting these changes using the “Contact” page of our website  If you believe that any of your personal data we are holding is incorrect, incomplete, or should not be processed, please contact us as soon as possible.

We require all personal data-related requests to be in writing using our website or via email. We may require additional information from you to allow us to confirm your identity and review your personal data.
